The Josephy Center is working with Nez Perce elder Allen Pinkham, geologist Ellen Bishop, and geologist and tribal interpreter Roger Amerman to develop a program we are calling “A Sense of Place: Tribal & Scientific Knowledge.” Other elders will join us as we visit Nez Perce Home Lands to explore the foundation of the Nez Perce “cultural watershed” through an intimate fusion of geosciences and traditional Nez Perce knowledge and stories. We are currently waiting on grant funding, and should know more in early August.
